INTRODUCING CHL-TV

CAMP HIGHLIGHT'S WACKY WEBSHOW IS READY FOR ITS CLOSE UP

When the world went indoors in March 2020, it was difficult for our Camp Highlight families and campers. That year was wrought with feelings of detachment and separation. During our Intermission, we learned that connection in our camp community is more important than ever.

CHL-TV is a new digital series led by cast members and Camp Highlight summer counselors Parker, Phil, Shomari, and Joy. Once a month, the CHL-TV team will connect Highlighters and their families all over the nation in virtual fun and content! The team has created segments inspired by the spirit of Camp Highlight. From Weird Science to Arts and Crafts, to funny sketches and camp jokes. Highlight families can join in the fun by submitting their own funny videos and updates. CHL-TV is ready to bring the Camp Highlight experience to the comfort of your home!

Highlighters and families can email chltv@camphighlight.com for info on how to submit videos and how to view the show!

Please stand by...for fun!

Our campers need your help!

For the past nine years, Camp Highlight has provided children of LGBTQ families with a safe space to play and grow through its stellar recreation and character-building program. It has grown to become a thriving community of families as well! There are still many children from LGBTQ families who want to join the Camp Highlight family, but cannot afford it. That's why we need your help to make the dreams of so many could-be Highlighters come true!

What does Camp Highlight mean to a child? We asked our campers to tell us how they felt about their experience, and this is what they said:

“I feel like I don’t have to hide my home life and it’s a tremendous weight lifted off my shoulders.”

“I love my family and I love my Camp Highlight family. They all want me to be someone who is better.”

“When I arrived, three people came to hug me and there were more behind them waiting, too. I’ve never had so many people love me right away like that!”

“[In my first year at Camp Highlight], we had a Pride Parade and I loved seeing all the kids who had families like mine.”

“[Camp Highlight] has helped me be a better person. I don’t fight with my brothers as much and I’m trying to show more Courage.”

“A camp where you can be yourself is the only camp I want to go to.”

Today is the beginning of our Spring Campership Drive. Our goal is to raise $5000 for our Campership Fund before Monday, May 17. To help, you can make a non-tax deductible donation by using our donation link or by sending a check to Camp Highlight PO Box 5173 Astoria, NY 11105. You can also help our future campers by sharing the donation link. Every little bit helps to make a child's dream come true.
